All of the people who have signed up for the crime watch have already been invited to this meeting and anyone who wants to get involved in the crime watch is asked to attend this meeting or call 617-268-SAFE and leave their name and telephone number and a crime watch volunteer will return their call and do an assessment over the phone.
The South Boston Crime Watch program is temporarily housed at 492 East Broadway and its website will be going online in the very near future. The telephone number at the Crime Watch office is 617-268-SAFE. Ed Flynn will be looking to assign office scheduling hours, set up smaller crime watch groups in the neighborhood, which will be plugged into the South Boston Crime Watch system and begin working with local police officials and others on alerting South Boston neighbors as to crimes that are committed in their section within minutes of the actual crime being committed.
“The Boston Police are in the forefront of some major new crime fighting initiatives that we have already discussed with Captain Russell and we hope to be incorporating them as we go along and become more established,” Ed Flynn stated
