|SBCA Senior Salute This Saturday
The 2006 South Boston Citizens’ Association Senior Salute Saint Patrick’s Day Luncheon for South Boston seniors will be held this Saturday. As always the event is hosted by the South Boston Citizens’ Association and generously sponsored by Massport. Massport’s Tom Butler and Craig Coy are this year’s Co-Chairmen, with City Council President, Michael F. Flaherty Jr., as Honorary Chairman. Three very special Moms are acting as Honorary Co-Chairpersons for the event, Mrs. Peggy Flaherty, Mrs. Ellie Hart, and Mrs. Anne Lynch.
The Senior salute will be held at St Monica’s/Saint Augustine’s Lower Church at Preble circle on
March 4, 2006 at 11:30 am. It is open and free to all South Boston Seniors, no tickets are required. Traditional Irish Fare of corned beef and cabbage will be served, with entertainment by the Mike Reynolds Band. As has been the tradition for many years, there will be lots of raffles donated by local elected leaders. South Boston Citizens’ Association President Michael P. Bare invites all to come out and enjoy the beginning of the Saint Patrick’s Day Season and the Associations’ events commemorating the 126th Anniversary of Evacuation Day.
Bare continued, “It has been a quick winter, and it is hard to believe March is upon us, but all is prepared and the SBCA is ready to roll out a great three weeks of events.”
