An Advertisement for Ourselves

     If you want to upgrade your advertising over the upcoming holidays (St. Patrick’s Day, Evacuation Day), consider using two tactics that are well known local marketing techniques.

     The first is using a series of advertisements.  It is a fact that there’s an awful lot of “product noise” out there.  Just take a look at the classified sections in daily newspapers prior to a holiday weekend.  Individual ads are completely lost.

     Could we suggest a series of three ads – in our March 2, 9, and 16 issues?  This is an inexpensive way to reach your true market, which is the readership of South Boston Online, and which is concentrated in and around our neighborhood.  With our distribution of 15,000 papers (free of course to the reading public) you will be seen – many times.  And the March 16 issue is our expanded St. Patrick’s Day issue – the largest of the year.

     Your ad will be placed among well-written, timely articles – it will be noticed and it will attract attention.  South Boston Online is the kind of local marketing forum where you can invite people to stop in at your place of business for a visit, or mention an incentive or a friendly challenge (“we have the best corned beef”, “our deliveries are quicker”, “reduced prices”, “compare our services to …”, and so on).  In other words, you can personalize your ads.

     The second tactic is to upgrade your advertisements to color.  Simply stated, color advertisements are more eye-catching than black and white.  You might consider placing ads in color over the holidays, so that you’ll be noticed and remembered by more readers.

     But please act quickly on the your decision to use color.  Our full-color pages are already filling up fast.
