December 28, 2005

    About 9:20 a.m,. officers responded to 460 West Broadway Municipal Parking Lot for a B&E to a motor vehicle. Victim reports unknown persons smashed the rear window and removed a black leather case from the vehicle.


     About 4:17 p.m. officers responded to 514 East Broadway for a B&E report. Victims report when they arrived home, they found their apartment ransacked and property missing. A Lap Top computer and jewelry reported missing. District six detectives responded to the scene and will be investigating.

January 1, 2006

     About 12:10 a.m., officers on patrol in the area ‘E’ Street and West Broadway observed a youth walking down ‘E’ Street carrying a case of beer and drinking from a can of beer. When he spotted the officers pulling up to the curb, he continued walking and drinking his beer. Officers exited the police cruiser and attempted to talk to the individual, but he began yelling at the officers that he was nineteen years old. Suspect placed under arrest and transported to district six for booking. He was the first person arrested for 2006. He was informed that the drinking age is twenty-one years of age, and it is illegal to drink from an open container of alcohol in public.

     About 2:10 p.m., officers responded to East Broadway and Farragut Road for a report of vandalism to a motor vehicle. Victim reports unknown persons damaged his vehicle front bumpers and stole both headlights.

January 2, 2006

     About 2:10 p.m., officers responded to 429 West Broadway for a report of an armed robbery in progress at the Chinese Restaurant. Victim report a male suspect went behind the counter and showed a black-colored handgun and stated, “I’m not going to hurt you, just open the register”. Victim replied, “You do it yourself’ and fled to the backroom to call 911. Suspect attempted to open the register to no avail. Suspect then fled the store towards Perkins Square. No money was taken. A search of the area was conducted to no avail. District six detectives responded and will be investigating.

January 4, 2006

     About 3:11 a.m., officers responded to 199 West Seventh Street for a motor vehicle parked in the Gavin Middle School parking lot, with the operator sleeping in the driver’s seat. Officers observed the vehicle had a damaged front end and a broken front wheel. The operator was passed out inside the vehicle with the engine running. Officers banged on the window until the operator woke up and attempted to drive off. The vehicle was unable to, due to the broken wheel. Officers opened the driver’s door and pulled the operator out of the vehicle. The operator had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and was unable to stand up on his own. Suspect placed under arrest and transported to district six for booking. Officers conducted an inventory search of the vehicle and found a large plastic bag containing seven smaller bags. Each of these bags contained a green herb substance believed to be marijuana. Drugs placed in district six drug locker.

January 5, 2006

     About 12:20 p.m. officers responded to 168 ‘I’ Street for B&E to a motor vehicle report. Victim reports unknown person removed the rubber casing around her driver’s window and unlocked the door. The dashboard was damaged and the stereo radio was missing. Victim also reports the radar detector missing from her dashboard.
