There you have it. There are all kinds of questions surrounding the 10th Mayor including the one about “Will this be the last Mayor of South Boston?” That question has been posed more than once to South Boston Claddagh Society President Bob “The General” Lee. The answer is to be determined by how this year’s Mayoral Election turns out. If this is the last Mayor’s Election we will have to come up with a new way to supplement the St Patrick’s Day Parade. Since 1997 the South Boston Mayor’s race has raised over $350,000 for the parade with the highest total coming in 1998 with over $51,000 raised in that election. The following election brought in over $49,000.
The ballots will be available on Saturday January 28th at the South Boston Public Library. The Election will be held on Saturday March 4th at the same location. If you have any questions or candidates please contact Bob “The General” Lee, Rep. Brian Wallace, Bubba Cahill, Timmy Duross, Joyce Tinlin Higgins, Tommy Butler or Sheila Lynch.
