The old hometown seems to be the place where a host of new businesses start up. It's a pleasure to introduce South Boston's newest enterprise - SOIREE event and party planning. Its founders (and planners) are Jillian Dineen and Christin Armour, both of whom are from Southie.
To quote their own literature, Jillian and Christin will take the stress out of your Holiday party. SOIREE is a full-service event and party planning company. Jillian and Christin will coordinate your Holiday event from beginning to end, and take care of all your entertainment needs, while you join the festivities.
But their services don't stop there. For the last five years, they have planned and arranged weddings, showers, and birthday parties. Both young ladies have extensive catering experience, including events at places like the Fenway clubs. They are especially skilled in arranging the popular "theme" parties and events. Currently, they're working on a Vegas-themed wedding and an intimate party with an international flavor. When the weather breaks next spring (and it will), they can arrange outdoor get-togethers, ranging from neighborhood barbecues to tented, catered wedding ceremonies.
Why should people consider using an event planning service? One reason is convenience (read "stress-free"). Multiple jobs and wage earners in a household make it difficult to find time to plan a truly fine party. And then there's the matter of being able to enjoy your own party without being concerned with innumerable details as the party progresses.
Another reason to go to SOIREE is "ideas". The experience Jillian and Christin offer extends to creative details such as themes, centerpieces, and so on. They can see to transportation, music and entertainment, and novel foods, if you want. Their extensive vendor list and contacts make it easy for you to get exactly the arrangements you want.
How does someone get started with a professional event planning service like SOIREE? First, make a budget estimate of how much you want to spend. Then, take a few minutes to think about the type of event you want, including the number of people you intend to invite. Finally, call Jillian and Christin to discuss the event. They'll be happy to suggest plans and alternates. Perhaps a Sunday brunch is better than an evening cocktail party, or an outdoor location might be preferable. Just ask them for their thoughts.
SOIREE can handle just about any type of function you might need. If you're in charge of this year's Holiday party at work, give them a ring. Fundraisers are frequent events on the South Boston scene - Jillian's and Christin's services can make them go smoothly.
On the personal side, both Jillian and Christin were born and brought up in South Boston. Jillian is married to John Dineen, a Boston police officer. They have a three-year-old daughter named Taryn. Christin is married to Thomas Armour from Belfast. They are expecting a boy in three months, who'll be named Ronan. Tom is an experienced chef, who is available to advise Jillian and Christin on menus and foodservice.
SOIREE is here to help you. They welcome calls on short notice, so don't let the Holiday season pass without contacting them: Jillian Dineen at (617)217-8257 or Jilliandineen@Bostonsoiree.com; Christin Armour at (617)640-7360 or Christinarmour@Bostonsoiree.com
