2nd Anniversary for Crump McCole Gallery

Christmas Open House to mark Crump McCole Gallery’s second anniversary

It’s been two years at the waterfront.

The Crump McCole Gallery is celebrating its second anniversary by hosting an Open House reception for friends and customers Friday evening, December 2.  “Along with really great paintings, music and refreshments will be provided to show our appreciation for the loyalty of our old friends and customers, “said Norman Crump.  “And we encourage anyone who wishes to become our new friends to visit our gallery and see the quality and wide scope of our paintings,” said Norman’s partner Dan McCole.

Both agreed that the loyalty and encouragement of their South Boston friends and customers has allowed them to expand their operation and explore their commitment in offering the finest in contemporary works from local painters.  Both also encouraged purchases for Christmas gifting.

“This is the time of the year for reflection on old times and good memories,” said Crump, “And our paintings reflect these feelings.”     Their works include oils, watercolors, acrylics, pen and ink and mixed media of subjects ranging from seascapes, landscapes, and cityscapes to New England scenes, portraits, sports scenes, and still lifes.

The artists represented are all local painters.  Norman Crump, Dan McCole, Jeff Eldridge, Brian Roach, Skip Toomey, Debbie Putnam, Bob Bowers, Tom Cherry, Bill Frew, Ed Larkin, Jay Mulligan, John Provenzano, Charyl Weissbach and others.  The owners have recently repainted and redesigned the gallery to offer a simpler setting to showcase their works.  The Open House celebration will continue through Saturday and Sunday from 10 to 6.  The public is cordially invited.

Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, our continuing series “Thursday Night Gallery Talks” will be postponed one week and will recommence with guest writer Brian Wallace on Thursday, December 1.  Sessions will be held after work, from 5 to 8 p.m. Brian, Southie’s elected state representative will handle questions and answers about his writing style, habits and the joys and problems of being a published author.

Gallery owners Norman Crump and Dan McCole recently announced their plans for painting classes at the gallery beginning in January.  Crump will hold oil painting sessions while McCole will offer watercolor classes.

The gallery is located at the World Trade Center, South Boston, on Seaport Boulevard (formerly known as Northern Avenue). directly across the street from the Seaport Hotel and halfway between Jimmy’s Harborside and Anthony’s Pier Four.
