If you answered "yes" to these questions, The Chorus might be for you.  The Discovery Channel wants you for an open audition on Saturday, October 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Tremont Temple in downtown Boston.  The Chorus is a TV series on Discovery/TLC that follows the formation of a singing group from the first note to the final BIG Show (more on this later!).

     Teenagers between the ages of 13 and 18 are eligible to audition, but must be available for rehearsals and performances between November 14, 2005 and February 10, 2006.  The Chorus will rehearse twice a week after school and every Saturday.  You will learn from inspiring vocal teachers and other specialists.  Rehearsals will be conducted like a typical choral rehearsal...but it will all be on TV.

     "What's really special about this singing experience," says The Chorus' Producer, David Clair, "is that it's so focused and intense that participants will be able to make huge leaps forward in their vocal ability, confidence and professionalism.  We're creating a musical experience to make the most of this short period and we'll try anything that will enable people to break through what they thought they could do musically."

     Members of The Chorus will not live in a jungle or on an exotic island.  Everything takes place in Boston - except for a special weekend trip for group members to get to know each other.  There are no contests or elimination games: everyone is a winner.  You won't get paid as a member of The Chorus, but it could be a big step in your singing career.  This is a special opportunity and a BIG challenge.  All we ask is that you have a real passion for singing and be ready to work as part of a singing group.  No previous choral experience is required.
