To the Editor:
Please be advised that until last week's edition of SBOL I was not aware that decisions were being made to open two 7-11 Stores on Broadway here in our South Boston neighborhood. After doing some questioning, there were several residents that also did not know about these business ventures.
We have two Store 24's, a Stop & Shop even though it isn't a Super store, a CVS, a Cumberland and a Brooks which certainly are sufficient for the needs of the people in our community, especially in and around both W. Broadway and E. Broadway.
If a vote were taken I would definitely vote against these particular additions on Broadway. Although we certainly need some new businesses these should not be considered. We already have too many duplicate businesses so a variety would be in the best interest of our community when and if businesses could be invited to open on Broadway.
