Details Continued Professional and Community Involvement
As primary day nears and residents of the 4th Suffolk District make their decision on which candidate to cast their vote for on September 14th, Mark McGonagle has been busy asking residents of South Boston and Dorchester for their vote while touting his professional experience. His record of professional and community involvement includes the Boston Public Health Commission Youth Development Network, Boston Centers for Youth and Families, Boston Connects, South Boston Collaborative Center and the Condon Community Center Council to name a few.
“I know everyone says they have experience, but I am the only candidate who has worked consistently throughout my entire career on behalf of the people of our community. Our next state representative has to be someone with real first hand knowledge of what it takes to solve the problems that face South Boston and Dorchester. They will need to fight on Beacon Hill for the resources and funding to address the concerns of the district,” said McGonagle.
McGonagle believes strongly that his previous work experience and long time commitment to neighborhood issues, along with his proposals, clearly separates him from the other candidates. “I have been helping young people and families in South Boston and Dorchester obtain treatment for substance abuse, find employment, obtain housing, and other critical services,” McGonagle added.
“There is no other candidate in this race that can match my experience and commitment to South Boston and Dorchester,” said McGonagle. “If voters are looking for a state representative with a proven track record of consistent involvement, who does not just get involved when it suits their political ambitions, then I am the candidate for them,” he concluded. McGonagle’s long time community involvement has earned him such awards as the National Night Out Community Service Award from the Boston Police Department for both Area B-2 and South Boston Area C-6, as well as the Old Colony Public Service Recognition Award.
As the election nears it is important for all voters take a close look at the candidates who will represent them on Beacon Hill. They need to be sure that the person they are electing has the qualifications, the work ethic, and the true sense as to what the community’s problems are so they can effectively represent you. But no matter who you decide to vote for on September 14th, please make sure that you do go to the polls and cast your ballot so that your voice can be heard.
